W'supEffective 23 October 2026

Terms of use

W’sup is new. These terms are for the first people using it, and we will have them reviewed by a lawyer before the public launch. If they change in a way that matters, we will tell you before it takes effect.

1. Who we are

W’sup (“we”, “us”) runs the W’sup app, the website at heywsup.life and the W’sup account on X. You can reach us at founders@heywsup.life.

2. What W’sup is

You say what you would like to do and when, for example “padel tomorrow evening”. We look for people near you who want the same thing at the same time. If you both say yes, you can chat and make a plan to meet. There is no feed, no swiping and no public profile.

You can also plan something for a group. You say what, when and how many people, and people who are up for it nearby are told. Nobody is in a group until the host and that person have both said yes. The host can remove anyone, and anyone can leave. A group has a chat for the people in it; the W’sup team can read a group chat if someone reports it. The same rules as everywhere else on W’sup apply to a group and its chat.

3. Who can use it

  • You must be 18 or older. By joining you tell us you are. We may ask you to show it, and we remove accounts we believe belong to someone under 18.
  • Joining needs an invite code for now.
  • You need a Google account to sign in to the app. One account per person.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your sign-in to yourself.

4. How to behave

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, scare, or bully anyone, or make anyone feel unsafe
  • pretend to be someone else, or give false details about who you are
  • post plans or messages that are illegal, sexual, hateful, or about hurting yourself or others
  • sell things, advertise, recruit, ask for money, or run a scam
  • contact someone who has said no, blocked you, or reported you
  • share another person’s private details or photos without their say
  • copy, scrape, or overload W’sup, or try to get around its limits, blocks, or checks

More on how we keep things safe, and how to report someone, is on our safety and community page.

5. Meeting people in person

W’sup helps you find people. We do not check who anyone really is beyond the sign-in, we do not come to the meeting, and we cannot promise how anyone will behave. Meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, and leave if something feels wrong. You are responsible for your own safety and for what you choose to do.

6. What you post

Your plans, chat messages, and answers stay yours. You let us store them, process them, and show them to the people they are meant for, so that W’sup can work. To understand a plan, we send its text to an AI service (see the privacy page). If you report someone, we may read the messages that go with the report.

Chats on the website’s private room (used for people who join through X) are locked so that people outside the chat cannot read them. The Privacy page explains how the keys work.

7. Cost

W’sup is free for now. If we ever add a charge, we will tell you clearly before you pay for anything.

8. Messages from us

We send notifications about your matches and chats, and sometimes an update from the team. If you use W’sup through X, your messages with our account are also governed by X’s own terms. You can turn notifications off in your phone’s settings.

9. Ending things

  • You can delete your account at any time. See how to delete your account.
  • We can pause or remove an account that breaks these terms, is reported by others, or puts someone at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why.
  • If a person reports you, or ends a chat with you, we will not suggest each other again.

10. What we promise, and what we do not

We work to keep W’sup running and safe, but it is provided as it is, and it may have mistakes or go down. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for what other people say or do, for meetings between people, or for losses that come from using W’sup. Nothing here limits any right you have that the law does not let us limit.

11. Disagreements

Indian law applies to these terms. If something goes wrong, write to us first at founders@heywsup.life so we can try to fix it. If we cannot, the courts in India can decide it.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. For anything that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it starts. Using W’sup after the new date means you accept it.
